Mrs Philomena Ojikutu amazes me with her growing earnings from her Telenovela Blog. I encouraged her to start a telenovela blog some seven months ago. Since then, I have been mostly off line because of my busy schedules.
A quick review of her 7-month report surprises me. Her monthly income has grown from zero to the region above $400 Dollars. Her monthly Unique visitors has grown from 200 to 33,000 while her monthly page-views has grown from 680 to over 260,000!
Though, I inspired her to take up the challenge of the gap in telenovela blogging, I never imagined that she could go this far in so short time period. Now it is my turn to be inspired with her modest accomplishment in her blogging ‘business’.
For your information, she is my wife and not just a stranger. I knew her dedication to the blog was unrivaled, what I did not know is that, she could pull such a huge crowd of fans with her talent.
Maybe the next advice I should give her is, to change the name of her blog from the gardener’s daughter (la hija del jardinero), to something more broader to encapsulate her whole niche, not just a soap opera out of the thousands in that niche.
My second advice would be to tell her to go for telenovela stories that has huge following on the internet, not just the low rated ones like Rebeca, which she is currently posting. I saw that she had started something on Betty the Ugly but stopped abruptly, may be, due to demand pressures of her readers.
Because she is a woman, she tends to be too emotionally influenced by her readers. Left to me, I would advise her to strike a good balance between what her current few readers, (I say that with all sense of responsibility, because her current 1,500 daily unique visitors can never be compared to the over monthly 120,000 new visitors that are searching for Betty the Ugly and Rebelde summaries on the net).
If she does that, she should expect her monthly earnings to quadruple to almost $2,000 Dollars!
I hope to snatch time soon again to critic or advice.

The kind of passion with which all of you are attached to my wife’s blog is amazing, and, let me confess that I am proud of her.
My criticism was just to encourage her to embrace more popular telenovela, which I have no doubt that all of you would enjoy, if she starts them.
Sister, Omodesola, thank you for your prayers. Philip Effiong thank you too. Remzy and Vickky and Grace Tam, I appreciate your contribution to my blog, but I cannot be as active now, as my wife, obviously because of my other commitments.
I promise that I would ecourage her to build a new website where I could occassionally come to join her to contribute my knowledge and energy.

I love your constructive criticizm of your wife’s work,but to be honest with you, i was glad she’s started posting Rebeca.
I totally disagree with Philip’s opinion on this soap.It is a very interesting soap and i’m sure the only reason why UGLY BETTY has so much searches is bcos it is currently showing in the USA.
Philomena, i love u so much and everytime i come to your site,i always look for something new.
U are a star.Just keep up the good work and pls let’s have the full story of Rebeca.

Dear Mr Ojikutu,
First and foremost thanks for lending us ur wife cos sincerly as a wife and mother it’s not easy coping with all the work she has to do.
Secondly my sincere appreciation goes to phil, our relationship hads gone more than tgd’s website she’s like a sister to me even before i realise that we are both from Edo state. My day is incomplete without going thru tgd’s website.
Lastly, my prayer for both of you is the continual guidiance of God on your life and in everything that you do. May He help you both to make the right choices even as regards telenovela nothing is too small to commit into His hands.

Dear Mr. Ojikutu, Many thanks for your very constructive criticism of your wife’s blog posting. I am one of her early fans and have followed her postings with avid dedication and have still not wavered till now. She is doing a great job and at times i marvel at the dexterity with which she tries to treat individual’s requests not minding that they run into thousands. I however share your sentiments in the case of Rebecca. Ever since she started the postings i treied to start watching it but i was disapointed by the low audio quality and lack-lustre performance of the actors/actresses. This is entirely my opinion and i know alot of tgd fans and talking about fans a lot of them are so inconsiderate with the kind of requests they make; “pls send the WHOLE episodes of when you are mine to my mail box.” Its amazing. After all said and done i want to thank you sincerely for your wife has really touched our lives. My day both at home and at the office does not end without me logging in to her blog. Kudos to you all.
